In The Rings of Power’s seventh episode, “The Eye” — which started streaming on Friday, Oct. 7 — Galadriel tells Theo (Tyroe Muhafidin) that she misplaced her husband in the battle towards Morgoth and Sauron.

“Celeborn was his identify,” she says. “We met in a glade of vegetation. I used to be dancing and he noticed me there. … The conflict appeared so very a long way away then. When he went to it, I chided him. His armor didn’t have compatibility correctly. I known as him a silver clam. I by no means saw him once more after that.”

Note, however, that Galadriel doesn’t say that Celebron is lifeless — she only says that she by no means noticed him after he went off to conflict. So there’s a chance that Celebron remains to be alive. And for that matter, Galadriel would possibly even know that Celebron could still be alive.

In a Q&A with newshounds about “The Eye,” The Rings of Power’s co-showrunner J.D. Payne addressed that uncertainty. “[Galadriel] says she by no means saw him once more,” he mentioned, consistent with NME. “Ambiguous. And we know there are things that the two of them do together in phrases of progeny that they're going to factor, realms they're going to discovered, all kinds of issues. So it might be very hard to believe that she would by no means see him again. But let’s see.”

Potential spoilers for the remaining of The Rings of Power forward!

Celeborn is indisputably alive in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ books and films, which occur after the events of ‘The Rings of Power.’

Unless the writers are messing with J.R.R. Tolkien canon, we can expect to see or pay attention from Celeborn one day on The Rings of Power. As Inverse recaps, Tolkien wrote that Celeborn remained in Middle-earth with Galadriel after the defeat of Morgoth, and the couple welcomed a daughter named Celebrían. Celebrían later became wife of Elrond (played in the motion pictures by way of Hugo Weaving and in the TV show via Robert Aramayo) and mom of Arwen (played in the movies by Liv Tyler).

Later, Galadriel and Celeborn gave the Fellowship of the Ring provides on their quest to spoil the One Ring and defeat Sauron, as depicted in Tolkien’s The Fellowship of the Ring and its film adaptation.

Inverse’s Mónica Marie Zorrilla expects to see Celeborn on The Rings of Power on the finish of Season 1 or in Season 2, adding, “It wouldn’t make sense to keep him lifeless or missing. The romantic rigidity between Galadriel and Halbrand [Charlie Vickers] has been juicy to watch unfold, but it surely’s time for Galadriel to reunite together with her husband.”
