But are there specific taunts towards specific teams which are considered unhealthy sportsmanship, like the horns down gesture? What does it even mean?
According to Sooners Wire, if a group playing in opposition to the Texas Longhorns performs the "horns down" gesture, the Big 12 may rule that gesture a taunt in dangerous taste and gamers may just face penalization. In college football, if the protection has been discovered in charge of unsportsmanlike behavior, it would end result in a 15-yard penalty and a direct first down for the offense. While there are plenty of people calling out the "crybaby" laws of penalizing the horns down gesture, Big 12 coordinator Greg Burks mentioned that any and all violations will likely be left up to the discretion of officials and will be dominated on a case by way of case basis.
"Lemme put it this way. If you do a 'horns down' to a Texas player as an opponent, that's probably going to be a foul. Please all of you note, I said 'probably.' We have to consider intent and consider the situation. We'll leave it to officials," he stated.
