The Season 19 premiere of 'Grey's Anatomy' had more than a few surprises including one from the Shepherd family. Who is Lucas Adams on 'Grey's'?
During Episode 1 of Season 1 in Grey's Anatomy, we first listen Dr. Derek Shepherd (performed by means of Patrick Dempsey) utter a sentence that would eventually change into his calling card. "It's a beautiful night to save lives," he says while making ready for a sophisticated surgery. In subsequent episodes he would swap out "night" for "day" but the sentiment remained.
The Season 19 premiere offered a new class of surgical interns which used to be reminiscent of Season 1. This new crop of scholars was once other from Meredith's (Ellen Pompeo) fellow interns in that they were the outcasts of each medical college. Grey Sloan Memorial was their final hope. Toward the end of the episode, one intern used to be granted the right to clean into a surgical procedure. "It's a beautiful day to save lives," he said, status over the patient.

Immediately after Lucas (Niko Terho) said Derek's well-known line (twice), Richard (James Pickens Jr.) appeared just a bit unhappy around the edges of his eyes, then glanced up at Meredith in a vaguely protective approach. She and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) have been each looking at the surgical procedure. "Derek was a god to him," Amelia says to Meredith. "And, Lucas was Derek's favorite nephew." The whole of social media gasped when this expose was once dropped upon us.
This begs the query: Was Lucas a nepotism rent? He sort of is, regardless that no longer in the usual sense of the word. Amelia is moderately fascinated about Lucas's talents because of the proven fact that on his first day, he did not get the complete title of a woman he was turning in crushing news to referring to her son. Turns out two girls in the waiting room had the similar first identify. This mistake virtually cost the affected person on the gurney in front of Lucas a lifesaving triple organ transplant.
While the Shepherd name for sure helped just a little, Meredith didn't rent Lucas as a result of of Derek. "He is a mess. He does need to do things his own way. But he also has a stroke of the family genius," Meredith assures Amelia. She then provides, "And he's a bit of a black sheep." Suddenly two things come into sharp center of attention for Amelia: Meredith hired Lucas as a result of he reminds her of Amelia, and Amelia is pissed off with Lucas for the same reason why. Meredith sees something in Lucas and we can't wait to look it as neatly.
Stop when Lucas said it's a gorgeous day to avoid wasting lives 😭😭😭😭 #greysanatomy #greys
— ☁Kiersten Barber (@Itskiersten) October 13, 2022Lucas Adams is played via actor Niko Terho, who in an interview with Loop chatted about the anxiety he felt over staring at his debut on the widespread scientific drama. The day of the Season 19 premiere on Oct. 6, Niko used to be inundated with texts and messages assuring him things would be superb. "It's really great to see all the support. It takes away the nerves that tend to come along with premieres," he told the outlet.
Filming on Grey's Anatomy wasn't all nerves; there have been also excellent instances available. "I'm glad that people are finally gonna get to see what we've been working so hard on," he mentioned. "We had so much fun filming."
Before checking into Grey Sloan Memorial, Niko used to be in a TV movie with Grey's Anatomy forged member Jake Borelli (Dr. Levi Schmitt). The Thing About Harry is a will-they-won't-they romcom with Jake and Niko's characters at the heart. The best will-they-won't-they question we're asking now is, which Grey's intern will make it?
Grey's Anatomy airs Thursdays at Nine p.m. EST on ABC.
