Starting on Dec. 29, the show Dare Me is coming to the USA Network. It’s about highschool cheerleaders, however don’t expect it to be the new Bring It On. The Dare Me trailer finds that the display without a doubt involves cheerleading, however its tone is much more similar to that of Euphoria or Pretty Little Liars. Interestingly sufficient, the new drama collection is in reality according to a book of the same name. Here’s what we find out about the Dare Me book.

The Dare Me book was once written by Megan Abbott.

Abbott is an award-winning author who has written several psychological thrillers and mysteries together with The End of Everything and Give Me Your Hand. Dare Me isn’t the most effective book that’s being tailored into a sequence — in 2018, the New York Times reported that four of Abbott’s novels were being advanced for TV. Needless to mention, she’s been pretty busy.

What is the Dare Me book about?

Dare Me tells the story of Addy Hanlon, a senior in high school. Addy’s very best pal Beth has always called all the photographs — each on the cheerleading squad and of their on a regular basis existence — and Addy has been all too satisfied to observe her orders. However, when a brand new cheer trainer comes to their college, the whole lot adjustments. And now not for the better.

The new trainer is named Collette. She’s younger and hip and turns out to have the adult thing all figured out.  Addy even starts babysitting for her. Of path, what starts as a babysitting gig soon becomes a way for Addy to cover for Collette as she cheats on her husband. Still, Addy can’t lend a hand being enamored with Collette. Everyone on the squad is  — except for Beth. After being unceremoniously solid apart for Collette, Beth starts waging a struggle against the new coach. Things start to get ugly.

Then issues get really dangerous — a shocking dying leads to a police investigation that appears to be occupied with the cheerleading staff. As Addy tries to be informed the fact behind the sudden dying, she unearths far more than she bargained for about the people she’s relied on.

The Dare Me solid is pretty unbelievable.

Addy is performed through Herizen Guardiola of The Get Down status and Marlo Kelly performs Beth. Collette (the new trainer) is portrayed through Willa Fitzgerald, whom you might acknowledge from the Scream TV series. The sequence also features the performing skills of Taveeta Szymanowicz, Erika Prevos, and Zach Roerig.

The actual accomplishment — both in the Dare Me book and the TV collection — appears to be the ability with which high school life is portrayed. Sure, now not everyone had a full-on homicide investigation going on of their school, however we’re all conversant in the drama that comes with being a youngster.

“There’s one thing dangerous about the boredom of minor women,” Addy muses at one point in the trailer. The risk is very, very actual — and so is Addy’s desire for one thing more after highschool, Beth’s plot for revenge, and Collette’s mysterious connection between the teenage and grownup worlds.

If you love a just right drama, Dare Me is sure to be your next TV obsession. It premieres on USA Network on Dec. 29 at 10/9c.
