Spoiler Alert: This article incorporates spoilers for Season 5B of Lucifer.

Lucifer (Tom Ellis) and Dan (Kevin Alejandro) have not always had the most efficient relationship. After all, Dan did try to shoot him. Season 5 sees a brand new courting between the 2. Dan can not recover from seeing Lucifer's Devil face. Which makes issues so much less amusing for Lucifer, who misses trading insults with his favorite "Detective Douche."

Despite their cantankerous dating, Dan is the most important section of Lucifer's life. He's the ex-husband of Lucifer's love pastime, Chloe (Lauren German), and the former spouses proportion daughter Trixie (Scarlett Estevez).

But Season 5B saw the end of Dan — twice. Did he in point of fact die? Well, now not the first time, however definitely the second time.

Did Dan die in 'Lucifer'?

Dan's loss of life in Episode Eleven was once far funnier than it used to be annoying. OK, it was once nonetheless nerve-racking for Dan. After realizing that he'd accidentally slept with the love of God's lengthy, lengthy life, he tried to ask for forgiveness to the celestial being — only for God to (accidentally) reason Dan to literally explode. God put the bloody mess again together once more, leaving fanatics pondering that Dan has noticed the worst of it this season.

Unfortunately, Dan faces a lot worse in Episode 15. Dan dies at the hands of mercenaries in search of Amenadiel's (D.B. Woodside) necklace, which Michael (Tom Ellis) plans to use to bind Azrael's Blade to take down Lucifer. But Michael also had some other hidden reason in Dan's demise.

In the sector of Lucifer, a to blame conscience can condemn someone to Hell. Michael wanted Dan to die as a result of of Lucifer. What's extra, as Amenadiel came upon, Michael made sure that Dan went to Hell when he died.

Knowing that Lucifer loves Chloe (even if he can't say it himself), he knew that Chloe would feel in charge over Dan's dying and sentencing to Hell, which might lead to her going to Hell. He believed that Chloe's condemnation would convince Lucifer to resume his former position as Lord of Hell and give up the fight to turn into the brand new God.

Is Dan stuck in Hell?

At the top of the season, lets breathe a bit of a sigh of reduction in terms of Dan's fate. Though he turns out in reality dead this time, Lucifer becoming God may mean that Dan goes to get out of Hell alright. After all, it doesn't appear that he went to Hell for anything that he did or felt. He went to Hell as a result of of Michael's plans.

After Lucifer sacrificed himself so as to save Chloe, he used to be deemed worthy enough to be God's successor. Season 6 will convey us a new God: the Devil. And, hopefully, Season 6 will even see the new God bring Dan to his hard-earned, peaceful afterlife.

Could Dan be brought back to existence?

It's imaginable that Lucifer's new role could resurrect Dan — however it is not likely. Although actor Kevin Alejandro hasn't officially said goodbye to the role, the sequence did give Dan a wonderful funeral and took the time to say goodbye to the character.

If Kevin returns, it's most likely it'll be in order that we will be able to see Dan go from Hell to Heaven. Season 6 is ready to be the ultimate of the sequence, so it is not possible that, because the sequence is making an attempt to wrap up, they will carry old characters again, aside from to say goodbye.

Season 5B of Lucifer is streaming on Netflix now.
