After testing positive for COVID-19, the leader of chiefs quarantined at home. But now fanatics are nervous: Is Tom Koracick going to die?
Although Grey's Anatomy fanatics are way more concerned for Meredith Grey, she is not the handiest surgeon at Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital who has been immediately impacted by way of the novel coronavirus pandemic. That's because "chief of chiefs" Tom Koracick (Greg Germann) is going through a COVID-19 battle of his personal after he tested positive all over a mandatory screening of medical institution workforce.
Now, fanatics are severely apprehensive: Is Tom Koracick going to die?
Fans have been shook when Grey's Anatomy's titular character collapsed in the sanatorium parking lot and then examined sure for COVID-19 shortly afterward. For now, Meredith is most commonly subconscious and glued in some kind of in-between inside of her own thoughts — aka, the beach where she can both talk to characters who have already died and hear what those who are still alive are pronouncing right next to her.
Meanwhile, Tom was totally asymptomatic when he examined positive for COVID-19 and used to be pressured to quarantine at home. Things didn't look too promising for Teddy's former lover when he was brought to Grey-Sloan; he had experienced a seizure and kept asking for his son, David, who died years previous.
"Maggie said that his numbers are holding," Amelia informed Teddy, after pronouncing she wanted to do an EEG to be sure the seizure was "one and done."
A touching second between Teddy and a presumed subconscious Tom at the medical institution then ensued.
"I don't know if you were ignoring me when I came by the house or just too sick to answer, but I'm going to go with too sick because maybe then there's a ray of hope for us," Teddy told him. "Which I could really use right now and I know you could."
She persisted, "I don't know how we're going to get through this pandemic, but I do know — I do know — that we're not going to get through it alone. So if you want to have nothing to do with me, then you are just going to have to get all better and tell me yourself. Because until I hear you say the words, you're not going to get rid of me."
That's when Tom finally squeezed her hand and opened his eyes.
"You were wrong. When you came to my house, I was ignoring you," he told a stunned Teddy.
Teddy answered with a laugh, "Did you hear everything I just said? I hate you," to which Tom identified, "Oh, we both know that's not true."
He then proceeded to (hilariously) benefit from the state of affairs through asking for, "What would you say to a sponge bath? But you know, as friends — a friendly sponge bath."
By the end of Season 17, Episode 5, Tom appeared to be in solid situation. But as Grey's Anatomy fans know all too neatly, things can change instantly — especially when it comes to the novel coronavirus. And they were not at all OK with the chance of shedding Dr. Koracick.

— Jess✨ (@Jess_themermaid) December 11, 2020 Source: TwitterWe hate to level it out, but this may be a handy time, story-wise, to write Tom out of the picture. Maybe then Owen and Teddy may just in the end heal their courting and move forward from Teddy's cheating on Owen with Tom (and then accidentally sending Owen a voicemail with their throes of interest recorded for an entire OR to hear).
Or, possibly Tom will pull through, and then he and Teddy can by hook or by crook be able to be "just friends" in any case. Who knows? Perhaps Grey's Anatomy writers aren't fairly carried out telling his tale yet.
Unfortunately, issues are nonetheless looking beautiful dicey for Dr. Koracick, in response to the promo for the winter finale.
The iciness finale of Grey's Anatomy airs on Thursday, Dec. 17 at Nine p.m. EST on ABC.
