The unique clip begins with Samantha and Rick on a FaceTime call, the place Samantha immediately questions Rick about his intentions regarding their courting. She without delay asks him if he has "any plans" to put effort into making their marriage paintings or if he is already giving up.
"Rick [sought] me out in prison, and he laid it on thick. I fell deeper in love with him, and to just end this before we're even together makes no sense," Samantha finds in a telephone confessional from the East Boise Reentry Center in Idaho.
As we rejoin the FaceTime conversation, Samantha directly asks Rick, "Are you dead set on being done?" Rick hesitates, managing just a feeble response: "I just… I don't know."
Back in Samantha's confessional, she drops a bombshell: "I heard Sandy was forcing herself on him at the reunion," she discloses, as a flashback displays Rick and his friend Sandy embracing warmly. "And that's what I think it is, um, that he's been cheating [on me] and finding a reason to sabotage this so he could, I guess, be with Sandy."
As the clip wraps up, Samantha bids Rick farewell with a sharp remark: "Have a good time with Sandy," before ending the call, leaving Rick staring blankly at his telephone.
