His parents, Robert and Gwynne, worked as actors, though his mother is also a working towards psychotherapist. The love of the arts — and the acting arts in particular — runs in the family. His grandmother, Anne Gwynne, is steadily hailed as considered one of the first scream queens, as she scored roles in horror films like Black Friday.

Details about Chris's sister Katherine's upbringing are scarce. She was raised in Los Angeles, and it is ceaselessly noted that she also attempted her fingers at performing.
